2003, Beaver Island Rural Health Center –
Beaver Gems was the general contractor on this project, a 7,500 square foot healthcare facility servicing Beaver Island.
Beaver Gems provided site work and excavation, rough and finish carpentry and construction equipment to the project.
The new Beaver Island Rural Health Center was designed by Hobbs and Black. The Beaver Island Rural Health Center features a tall central core over the artery hallway which runs from one end of the building to the other, and a design which can be mirrored about the entry if more space is needed in the future. The building includes patient care rooms, specialty rooms such as x-ray, common spaces, staff offices, a video conference room, main public front lobby and waiting room, secondary side lobby and waiting room, and also features separate emergency and dental entrances on the back and side of the building.
Eight subcontractors worked on the project and provided specialty services such as Electrical, Mechanical, and Glazing.
The Beaver Island Rural Health Center was completed on time and on budget.
